Pictures, as promised.

Here's Damion and Miles after their piano recital in Hoboken:
Here are some pictures of the snow at my parent's house:

These are paintings by my Grandma Dot that are hanging in the cafe near my parent's house. My mom thinks these were done in the late 70's or early 80's. I nearly cried when I saw them there. They look beautiful.

So, in other news, it looks like I'm hanging out here for a while. My parents have work on their house to do, so I'll try to find a job and help out a bit. I'm still planning a visit to Julie in Texas, a visit to Kristal in Portland and spending the summer in Alaska. Merry Christmas everyone!

Land of Confusion

So, I'm back on the West coast. My last day at work in Hoboken was Tuesday, December 9th. I spent the next few days in the city with Kristal, Andrew and the boys. We were waiting for a piano recital on Sunday, December 14th before leaving the East Coast. It was a small affair and it was great. Both of the boys were all smiles before, during and after. Here they are after the recital walking back to the apartment in Hoboken: (Actually, no. I can't get any pictures to upload, so you'll have to wait.)

While we were in the city awaiting the recital, we went to Rockefeller Center. It was very crowded and the tree is very large. People were ice-skating and taking pictures and shopping. It felt very much like the holidays. We didn't get any snow but it was really cold out. We were outside every day in the cold though, just trying to see the last we could of the city. We visited MOMA, the Museum of Modern Art. I had been wanting to go since we moved there, so I was excited to go. There were very few paintings that I recognized but I enjoyed seeing work by Gustav Klimt, Picasso and Jackson Pollock. I didn't take any pictures there because I was tired and not super-impressed. It's exhausting to wander around New York with the cold and the crowds. I was telling Kristal and Andrew that I appreciate New York when I'm not there. I feel very uncomfortable making my way through the crowd, worrying about losing track of Andrew (who is usually leading us) or losing one of the kids. It's stressful! So, anyway, we had a good time but we were all ready to get moving! We finished up errands on Monday and they dropped me at JFK and then got on the road.

I landed in San Diego that night to pouring rain! My good friend that I've known since junior high, Shannon, picked me up at the airport and I spent one night at her house. It was so nice to see her! I got to meet her daughter for the first time. Adalynn will be one year old in January and is adorable. She was immediately smiling and social and playful, which reminds me a lot of Shannon. So, we had breakfast and then she dropped me off at my brother's house. We had an uneventful week, as it was raining nearly every day! It was fun to hang out with the kids though. I don't see them enough. I wish I had the money to have houses in Portland and San Diego! So, we watched some movies, played some games, did some shopping... and just hung out. The week flew by! So, now I'm at my parent's house trying to stay warm. I'll be here until next weekend, alternating between playing in the snow with the 10-year-old neighbor and warming my feet in front of the pellet stove.

I'll try for pictures later.

Black Friday in Newport, Rhode Island

Luna was sad to see us go...
We ate lunch as soon as we got to Newport. We parked to take a cliff walk overlooking the ocean. Oliver was ready to run!

Damion pretended to fall off the cliff. Haha. He's so funny.

The boys were pretending to be cheetahs or lions or something that hides in tall grass.

I'm not going into detail because I know that Andrew will later on their blog.

Dear Santa,
I have been a very good girl this year. For Christmas, I would like an Easy-Bake Oven and a pony.
Love,
Kebra

This is my first knitting project since I got back from Alaska. The plan is still to make a bunch of hats to sell there next summer. It originally included this hat but Miles wanted it to be for him. (He wanted me to leave the string hanging out of the top so that it looked like a Hershey Kiss.)

And these are some pictures that I took on my walk to work the other day.
